33rd Annual Trans Am Nationals Rolling Through Fairborn

The Holiday Inn Dayton/Fairborn will be the epicenter of Firebird nation, August 26th and 27th, when it hosts the 33rd Annual Trans Am Nationals - Show n' Shine. The weekend will feature hundreds of Firebirds in competition together to see which is the most beautiful in the country (as voted on by professional judges in over 30 show classes). Included in the festivities will be appearances and seminars by GM/Pontiac designers, engineers, executives and historians, music, food, giveaways, and silent and live auctions - with proceeds benefitting A Special Wish Foundation. Last year, there were 379 total entries and this year organizers anticipate even more. Show n' Shine is open to the public to attend (spectators are free) or participate in (for a nominal registration fee). Interested car owners should visit www.tanationals.com for entry information.

"On behalf of the Trans Am Club of America - Dayton Chapter, Trans Am Nationals Committee and the Pontiac hobby, I would like to thank the Holiday Inn Dayton/Fairborn for their hospitality as well as the corporate hotel neighbors and Greene County businesses who welcome us and our participants each year for our event," said Trans Am Nationals Show Committee spokesperson Scott A. Scheel. "We are proud to call Fairborn our home and look forward to continuing the event for many years to come."

Here's a breakdown of weekend Show n' Shine events at Holiday Inn Dayton/Fairborn, providing several photo/video/interview opportunities for news cameras or reporters (interested media please RSVP to jody@grimaldipr.com):

August 26

Saturday kicks off two days of Show n' Shine (10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) in Holiday Inn Dayton/Fairborn's expansive parking lots, where hundreds of the most beautiful Firebirds in the world compete for top honors in judged competition. At the highest level, concours judging documents the authenticity of 1967-1978 Firebirds, while the Work In Progress class offers space for owners of roadworthy but not-quite-finished Firebirds to show off their barn finds or handiwork.

August 27

Sunday offers a tremendous opportunity for spectators to see hundreds of Firebirds in their Sunday best, detailed for show and ready for final judging between 9:00 a.m. and noon. At 12:00 noon, a live auction is held to raise money for A Special Wish Foundation, an organization dedicated to granting wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses. The award ceremony begins at 3:00 p.m. and the show officially closes at 5:00 p.m.
