Convention of the States To Be Discussed

A major issue exists in our country. Do we need to have the states call for a convention to propose "needed" Amendments to the U.S. Constitution as is currently being fought in most state legislatures? Many states have already voted for such a convention. Ohio is actively considering it.

Ricki Pepin of the Institute on the Constitution will speak to this critical issue. It's important that we understand the pros and cons of this major issue. We've used the Amendment process successfully 27 times. But we've never used the constitutional convention.

Notables such as former Justice Antonin Scalia and Chief Justice Warren Burger both considered the convention process a great risk. However, today we have many respected conservatives such as Mark Levin, Sean Hannity and Mike Huckabee supporting a convention and it's being pushed by an aggressive "Convention of States" organization. The Greene County Tea Party & Greene County Republican Party are pleased to co-host the event.

The event will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2018 at the Greene County Republican Party Headquarters at 45 E. Main St., Xenia. Social begins at 6:30 p.m.; the program begins at 7:00 p.m.
